Last September we embarked on an expansion of Snow Bear Chalets, to add 7 new chalets to our little family of slopeside, luxury, short-term vacation rentals. Then winter 2019/2020 hit with tons of snow, and just when we were seeing the light again in early March 2020, COVID-19 changed the world as we know it. What a crazy time to be constructing a large project!
We’re so grateful that even during the COVID craziness going on around us in the world, our crew has been able to work even throughout the shutdown. Yes, we all wore masks to protect one another, (even if it was with substantial, continual prodding from me). We made it through a time we will always remember- together.
Today we’re celebrating the Certificate of Substantial Completion of our new building, including our personal home and six new short-term vacation rental units. My husband and I moved into our home on November 7th, and guests will start arriving for our new rentals in about 2 weeks. WOOHOOOOO!!!!!
At this time of Thanksgiving, we want to publicly thank the talented craftsmen who have helped us build this new expansion at Snow Bear Chalets. For the last 14 months you have designed, dug, built, finished and worked tirelessly during very difficult times.

In case you haven’t seen the new chalets yet, you can view the floor plans and architectural renderings on our website, by clicking on the CHALETS tab and then selecting a specific chalet from the drop-down menu. This new building features 7 luxury chalets, underground, heated, reserved parking, a large ski locker room, and a PreCor fitness center. Or, you can wait a few weeks and once they are fully furnished, you’ll be able to enjoy professional photos of each unit, or better yet, come enjoy one of them for a ski vacation!
