FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SNOW BEAR CHALETS
WHY SNOW BEAR CHALETS AND WHY WHITEFISH MOUNTAIN RESORT?
WOW, was Snow Bear Chalets really selected as one of TIME Magazine’s 100 World’s Greatest Places?
Yes! We were included on the cover of TIME Magazine in their 100 World’s Greatest Places 2018 issue, in September of 2018. Of the 100 places in the entire world, we were one of only 4 places to stay in the United States! We’ve also been named one of the 30 Most Romantic Places to Stay by COSMOPOLITAN Magazine, and have been featured in more than 200 more. You can find the stories/links here.Share
How’s the skiing at Whitefish Mountain Resort?
SKI Magazine rated Whitefish Mountain Resort the #3 Overall Best Resort in all of North America, in 2020! With thousands of acres of varied terrain for all level skiers, Whitefish Mountain is known for the friendliness of the people, and the amazing views from the mountain into the Canadian Rockies and the mountains of Glacier National Park.Share
ACCOMMODATIONS AND RATES:
Are there any additional costs?
Yes, we have an 8% MT and local Whitefish Lodging Tax, a flat cleaning fee regardless of length of stay ($250 for Ponderosa and Tamarack, $350 for Cedar), and a $79 insurance fee, which covers up to $1500 in damages.Share
What are your rates?
The rate varies by which chalet you choose, and with the specific season. Our least expensive rates are our off-season rates April-May and September-early December.
Not including our most in-demand holiday weeks, we think Snow Bear is quite reasonable with rates ranging from as low as $59/per person/night to as high as $150/per person/night (at full occupancy for the chalet). That being said, Snow Bear is not for everyone. It’s literally the ultimate in luxury living for those who choose a unique, decadent holiday experience. If you’re ready to be spoiled on a gorgeous mountain escape, regardless of the season, you’ve found the right place!Share
How many people can you accommodate, if I want to bring family, friends or host a corporate retreat?
Currently 22 total, between the three Snow Bear Chalets.
Ponderosa- 6 guests, in two king and two twin beds
Tamarack- 6 guests, in two king and two twin beds
Cedar- 10 guests, in two king and six twin beds
Coming in the fall of 2020, we’re adding 7 additional units which will increase our vacation rental occupancy, with the construction of The Residences at Snow Bear. These luxurious penthouses are located slopeside, adjacent to Snow Bear Chalets, and will have three 3-bedroom units, and four 2-bedroom units.
The penthouses are located in one building, feature underground, heated, reserved parking, a ski locker room, a fitness center, private outdoor decks with amazing views and a private hot tub, all just a few feet from the slope. You can view renderings and floor plan layouts on our website.
Once The Residences are complete, we can then accommodate up to 70 guests at Snow Bear!Share

You can learn more on how we can help your favorite charity here.Share

Glacier National Park is about 30 miles from the treehouses and is a beautiful drive. However, if you don’t choose to deal with limited parking in Glacier National Park during the peak summer months, you can drive your car to the Visitor’s Center in Apgar, then park and take the shuttle to many hiking destinations throughout the park. The free shuttle picks up/drops off about every 20 minutes at many popular spots in Glacier.
There is also a direct shuttle from downtown Whitefish to the Visitor’s Center, available for around $12/person.Share
